The hospital likely requires large facilities and space as an academic medical center, state designated trauma center, and magnet hospital.

Many facilities on the list are also among the top hospitals in New Jersey with the highest net patient revenue including Morristown Medical Center and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital New Brunswick.
