The Texas hospital with the most staffed beds is Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio with 1,463 beds. Baptist Medical Center is a part of the Baptist Health System, the largest and most expansive health system in the state. Founded over 100 years ago, the network now includes acute care hospitals, urgent care clinics, imaging centers and free-standing emergency departments, all of which are located in the San Antonio metro area. Baptist Health System is also a part of the Tenet Health Corporation which currently has more than 100,000 employees and has facilities in 43 states.
In second place is Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center in Houston. This facility has 1,067 staffed beds and provides emergency and trauma care to more than 40,000 patients every year. Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center is the primary, private teaching hospital for the McGovern Medical School, a part of UTHealth Houston. It is also currently ranked as the number two rehabilitation hospital in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.
The third-place hospital is Houston Methodist Hospital with 1,003 staffed beds. Houston Methodist Hospital is the flagship hospital within the Houston Methodist health system. The hospital is also ranked as the number one hospital in Texas by U.S. News and World Report.
