The South Dakota hospital with the highest net patient revenue is Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center, with an NPR of $1.3 billion. It is a part of the Avera Health IDN along with 25 other hospitals in South Dakota, delivering care to those in South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Iowa.
The hospital with the second highest NPR in South Dakota is the Sanford USD Medical Center, with an NPR of $1.2 billion. They are South Dakota’s largest hospital and are a teaching hospital for the School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota. Their comprehensive care features neonatal and pediatric intensive care, emergency air transport, specialty care in children’s care, neuroscience, and sports medicine.
