What Mississippi hospitals have the highest net patient revenue?

The Mississippi hospital with the highest net patient revenue is University Hospital (formerly known as the University of Mississippi Medical Center), with an NPR of $1 billion. It offers 15 specialties, some of which include children’s hospital medicine, stroke care, and neurosurgery, and have numerous ongoing clinical trials. With 697 beds, the University Hospital is also the largest hospital in Mississippi.

University Hospital has a Level I trauma center and has been ranked as high-performing in five procedures and conditions by U.S. News & World Reports. It is the state’s only academic health science center and houses seven health science schools: nursing, medicine, dentistry, population health, health-related professions, pharmacy, and graduate studies.

The hospital with the second highest NPR in Mississippi is North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, with an NPR of $747 million. It is the largest private, not-for-profit hospital in Mississippi and the largest non-metropolitan hospital in America. In addition to servicing more than 24 counties in north Mississippi, it also serves patients from northwest Alabama and portions of Tennessee. North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo is affiliated with North Mississippi Health Services and is designated as a Level II trauma center, one of only three Mississippi hospitals to receive this distinction.

Memorial Hospital Gulfport has the third-highest net patient revenue in Mississippi, with an NPR of $700 million. It is a public, not-for-profit hospital jointly owned by Harrison Country and the City of Gulfport. In addition to a Level II trauma center, it has four outpatient surgery centers, two nursing centers, satellite diagnostic and rehabilitation centers, and more than 100 Memorial Physician Clinics.
