Top 5 ACOs in Georgia by gross savings
Accountable care organizations (ACOs) are networks of healthcare providers—such as physicians, hospitals, and specialists—who collaborate to deliver coordinated care to Medicare patients. By focusing on improving patient outcomes and reducing unnecessary costs, ACOs aim to enhance care quality while lowering overall expenses. These organizations particularly emphasize care for older adults and individuals with chronic conditions, offering a more streamlined care experience for populations that require more regular interactions with providers.
ConnectedCareView tracks ACOs across the United States, offering detailed insights into their financial performance, patient populations, affiliations, and care coordination strategies. Using this data, we identified the ACOs in Georgia that generated the most significant Medicare savings. This metric is calculated by subtracting an ACO’s total beneficiary expenditures from its total expenditures, offering a snapshot of the financial impact on both the ACO and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
